The advisory board of Porsche Lizenz-und Handelsgesellschaft, Bietigheim-Bissingen, has appointed Jürgen Gessler the new chairman of the management board.
The sales expert, who has been in charge of marketing for Porsche Deutschland since 2002, succeeds Siegmund Rudigier, who left in July 2006.
Car maker Porsche holds a 65% stake in PLH and remaining shares are held by FaPo Beteiligungen. The company handles Porsche brand management outside of the automobile operations and was formed by merging Porsche Design and Selection activities in 2003.
The advisory board has also named Roland Heiler managing director of the design studio in Zell am See, Austria, as a future member of the PLH management team.
A further managing director, who will be responsible for the finance division, will be appointed shortly. In expanding the management team, the advisory board is taking into account the increasing number of tasks performed by corporate management at the Porsche subsidiary.
