Having barely launched the Q7 SUV and redesigned TT coupé, Audi has now announced three more new models.


The Q5 – a medium sized SUV – will be built at Ingolstadt in Germany from 2008. Around EUR300m Euros will be invested in the production facilities over the next few years.


Around 1,700 workers will build the Q5 in the principal Audi factory in Bavaria.


“The Q5 will be an overtly sporty vehicle that will add an important product to the Audi model range. The Q5 will take us a big step closer to vehicle sales of 1.4 million per year, a target that we have set ourselves for 2015,” said chairman Martin Winterkorn.


Winterkorn said the S3, a three-door model with a sporty engine which will be in showrooms in the second half of 2006.

He added that the much speculated A5 coupé will join the range and will also be built in Ingolstadt and launched in the first half of 2007.
