Sales of 313,902 Mercedes-Benz passenger cars set a new high for the first while March was the strongest sales month in company history.

March sales rose 11% to 131,334 units and quarterly sales were up 11.9%.

In the first three months of the year, Mercedes-Benz set a new sales record in the US, Canada, and Mexico – US sales alone rose 15.3%  to 61,513 units with 23,134 in March (+7.7%).

China sales rose 19.5% to 51,328 in the first quarter while March sales rose 16.1% to 17,660 units.

Q1 sales rose 32.7% in Russia, and 6.9% in India.

At home in Japan, 56,552 units were sold in the first quarter, an increase of 14.6%.

Western Europe Q1 sales were up 6.7% to 78,135 units.
