In the first seven months of 2006, sales rose 8% to a record 729,600 units.


Mercedes-Benz brand sales rose 5% in July to 92,700 units (July 2005: 88,200 units). Year-to-date, Mercedes delivered a record 658,000 cars, up 12%.


Western Europe sales rose by 4% to 55,900 units with gains in the UK, France, Spain and Italy.


United States customer deliveries also rose 4% to a record 21,600 vehicles.


A new sales record was set in the Asia/Pacific region as well, with sales increasing 14% to 8,500 units.
