Mazda Motor Europe (MME) is running a continent-wide photo contest as part of its marketing of the new MX-5 roadster-coupe with folding steel roof.
The new version of the popular sports car was launched this week at the London motor show.
The so-called ‘Zoom-Zoom photo competition’ will run until September this year, with a new MX-5 roadster coupe as the ‘grand prize’.
European citizens are being encouraged to send in photos of a moment that “best expresses Mazda’s Zoom-Zoom philosophy,” the company said.
“The exhilaration we felt as a child shooting down a hill on our bike, this is what Zoom-Zoom means at its most basic level,” said MME marketing chief Masahiro Moro. “The photo contest’s goal is to capture this ‘emotion of motion’ in a single photograph. It will be a challenge, but worth the effort.”

The winners will be announced online on 25 September. Submitters of the nine runner-up photos will receive prizes including Bose home entertainment and audio systems and the winner will receive the keys to the prize car at this year’s Paris motor show.
