New car registrations in Germany last month rose 10% from a year earlier and the importers’ association VDIK predicted further growth in the second half of the year.
The association added: “The positive overall economic development is clearly having an effect. The car industry’s order backlog has reached an excellent level.”
The June growth rate was adjusted for an equal number of working days. More bank holidays in June than in the year-ago period led to a 0.3% decline in the non-adjusted figure.
German car association VDA earlier confirmed its forecast of 3.1m new car registrations for this year, up from 2.92m last year.
