Kia Motors Europe has announced the appointment of Mr Sun-Young Kim to the position of President Kia Motors Europe (KME) with immediate effect.
Mr Kim joins KME from his position as President and CEO of Kia Motors (UK) Ltd.
He has previously worked for Kia in Korea, the USA, Belgium and the UK.
Born in February 1955, Mr Kim joined Hyundai Engineering & Construction Ltd in 1981 and subsequently held senior executive positions at the Hyundai Corporations headquarters in Seoul and at Hyundai Motors America.
Before heading up KMUK, Mr Kim held the position of Managing Director at Hyundai Mobis – Korea’s largest components manufacturer – in Belgium, and previously worked as Vice President of their International Business Division, based in Seoul.

By GlobalDataThe 53-year old Mr Kim is married with two children and is an enthusiastic golfer in his spare time.
Mr Kim’s predecessor at KME, Mr Kwang-Ho Nam, is returning to Kia Motors Corporation in Korea, to take up a new executive position.
An announcement on a new President for Kia Motors (UK) will follow shortly, Kia said.
