GM Europe has officially opened its new European Design Centre in Rüsselsheim, Germany.

The facility employs around 350 people, who create products for Saab, Opel, Vauxhall and Saturn.

“Having our advanced design operations in Rüsselsheim provides us a more direct link with advanced engineering and planning therefore maximising synergies,” said Bryan Nesbitt, executive director of GM Design Europe.

GM has 11 design centres around the world, linked by virtual reality studios. Projects are shared around the globe.

The design organisation is led by Ed Welburn, GM’s global vice president of design.
