General Motors is considering the possibility of moving production of a new Buick to its German unit Opel, a local paper has reported.

According to the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung daily, the US company could make the move if it decides not to assemble a new Saab model in Germany, as originally planned, but move production of that car to Sweden instead.

The newspaper, without quoting sources, said Opel’s main plant in Ruesselsheim near Frankfurt is in the frame to produce “large numbers” of Buicks.
