MAN has announced further closures at its truck plants.
At the end of last year, chief executive Hakan Samuelsson said production would stop for 40-50 days in the first half of the year, but that has now been increased to 70 days.
Three plants in Germany and one in Austria are affected.
Working time accounts will be run down, and the government will pay partial wages for 42 days.
The company is hoping the temporary closures will help cut costs by around 30%.
