Ford Europe said active park assist had proved more popular with customers than expected.
So far in 2011, over a third of C-Max customers and nearly a fifth of Focus buyers have chosen the option, introduced with the redesigned C-Max late in 2010.

C-Max demand was more than twice what Ford had forecast and it has had to expand capacity.
The feature will be offered on more models in Europe in 2012.
