Klaus Maier ,51, currently head of the Europe and Latin America trucks unit, will replace Joachim Schmidt from April 1, the automaker said in a statement, without giving any reason for the move.
Schmidt will soon take over another senior executive position within DaimlerChrysler, the statement added, without elaborating.
Hubertus Troska, 44, previously CEO of Mercedes-AMG, will replace Maier.
