Handelsblatt reports that DaimlerChrysler is in negotiations with ThyssenKrupp over the sale of a majority stake in its steering gear operation MB Lenkungen.

The report says that the DC unit’s only customer is its parent and that it has been unable to cover high development costs.

Dow Jones reports that DC is refusing to confirm or deny that talks are taking place, dismissing the Handelsblatt article as ‘speculative’.
