US-German auto group DaimlerChrysler is seeking a partner in China to expand its presence there, says the UK’s Financial Times (18/9/00).

Quoting Dieter Zetsche, DaimlerChrysler board member – responsible for both trucks and the Group’s Asian business – the FT says that the company is seeking a Chinese partner to play a dominant role there.
