Daimler has no plans to cooperate with Toyota on hybrid car development, the automaker’s head of research & development, Thomas Weber, said.
Weber refuted media reports last month which said the two companies intended to work in partnership for the supply of parts for hybrid cars, Financial Times Deutschland reported.
There are currently no planned hybrid projects with BMW, a spokesman for Daimler told the paper.
Daimler and BMW jointly developed the hybrid engine for the S-class but Daimler will work independently on the new hybrid engines for the E-class and S-class electric cars, the report added.
