Daimler has reported group EBIT in the third quarter of EUR2,418m (Q3 2009: EUR470m) and net profit of EUR1,610m (EUR56m) on revenue of EUR25.1bn (EUR19.3bn).
Mercedes-Benz Cars anticipates EBIT of approximately EUR4.5bn for full year 2010 while Daimler Trucks expects to post EBIT of over EUR1.1bn.
Chairman Dieter Zetsche said: “Of course, the world economy is not yet as stable as it was before the recession, but we are confident that we will continue to operate successfully in our markets.”
In the third quarter, Daimler sales rose 23% year on year to 475,100 cars and commercial vehicles worldwide.
Mercedes-Benz Cars unit sales rose 17% to 317,500 vehicles.
