Daimler is considering working with Robert Bosch on batteries for electric vehicles, research chief Thomas Weber told German daily newspaper Handelsblatt.
The pair said in April they would develop and make electric motors for all-electric vehicles in Europe. They signed a letter of intent and began negotiations to establish a 50:50 joint venture that should be concluded in the first half of 2011.

Daimler also works with chemicals group Evonik on lithium-ion batteries.
“We are talking to others including Bosch, and of course about cooperation on lithium-ion batteries,” research head Thomas Weber told the paper, Reuters reported.
“I can imagine that Bosch, alongside our joint venture with Evonik, could be a further supplier for us,” said Weber.
Volkswagen last week said it was aiming to win Bosch as a partner in developing battery technology, the news agency noted.
