Daimler has announced two new members of its supervisory board.
They are Sari Baldauf (52), formerly vice president and general manager of the networks business group of Nokia, and Jürgen Hambrecht (61), chairman of the board of BASF.
They will represent shareholders and assume their roles from January 2008, although they will not be officially elected to the board until Daimler’s annual general meeting on 9 April 2008.
Hambrecht and Baldauf will take the places of Earl Graves and Peter Magowan who will give up their roles on 31 December following the sale of Chrysler. Graves was a member of the board of Chrysler from 1990 to 1998 and has been a shareholder representative on the DaimlerChrysler supervisory board since 2001. Magowan was a member of the Chrysler board of directors from 1986 and a shareholder representative on the DaimlerChrysler board from 1998.
