The Brazilian authorities have asked Volkswagen to recall 477,000 Fox car models after a defective valve at the car’s back seat injured a driver, Handelsblatt newspaper said.
It said Brazil’s justice ministry had asked VW to present by Saturday a technical solution to the back seat problem and decide whether it would launch the recall action.
The report, citing company sources, said VW would very likely meet the ministry’s demand to launch a recall.
Volkswagen’s South American models have been subject to recalls before.
