The BMW group delivered a record 139,276 vehicles worldwide in October, up 8.3% year on year. Year-to-date sales were up 15.2% to 1,371,863 cars.
BMW brand sales last month rose 6.8% to sold 115,136 units while YTD volume was up 13.6% to 1,137,065 units.
Mini set a new sales record for October with volume up 16.2% to 23,839 units while YTD sales were up 23.3% to 232,056 units.
Group sales in China were up 33.5% to 18,346 cars last month and up 44.5% to 195,868 YTD. Strong growth was also recorded in Russia (2,925 vehicles/+55.5%), India (890/+18.2%) and Turkey (1,657/+18.2%).
Sales and marketing chief Ian Robertson said: “Once again we achieved record sales [in] October. The group is well on its way to reaching its target of more than 1.6m units and achieving an all-time high for sales in 2011.”
