BMW booked record sales revenue in 2007 as group revenues rose 14.3% to EUR56,018m.
Vehicle deliveries also set a record, with BMW, Mini and Roll-Royce brand sales totaling 1,500,678 units, up 9.2% over 2006.
BMW is aiming for further growth this year. “with stronger growth in the first half of the year and more moderate growth in the second”, according to chairman Norbert Reithofer.
Reithofer confirmed BMW’s earnings forecast for the 2007 financial year, saying that pre-tax profit is expected to be above least year’s level and that results will be published in March.
In a statement BMW said sales were boosted by EfficientDynamics products. By the end of the year, more than 450,000 BMW and Mini brand cars on European roads alone had the technology.

By GlobalData1,276,793 BMW cars were sold in 2007, up 7.7%. Mini, boosted by the new Clubman body style, also posted good growth with sales up 18.5% to 222,875 units. Rolls-Royce increased sales for the fourth year in a row to 1,010 vehicles, up from 805, the first time it has ever achieved a four-digit result.
The BMW 3-series was the biggest selling model line, accounting for 37% of group sales. Deliveries rose 9.2% to 555,219 units.
165,803 1-series models were sold, up 9.1%,due mainly due to the launch of the three-door versions in May 2007. New coupe and cabriolet lines should give the line a further boost in 2008.
The USA was the largest single market for the group, with sales up 7.1% to 335,840 units last year. Of these BMW sales were also up 7.1% making the brand the most successful in the US market in 2007, according to the company.
Germany was down 9.2% oerall, but BMW managed to outperform the market and limit its sales decline to 4.2% (284,523 units).
Double-digit growth was achieved in Great Britain (173,685 units, up 12.8%); Italy (106,985, +10.9%); Spain (72,849, +15.6%); and France (65,081, +23.1%).
Good sales were also posted in the fast growing markets of China with 51,588 units (+41.9%), Russia (14,686,+54.5%) and India (1,387 +439.7%).
