BMW group vehicle sales rose 6.6% year on year to 112,163 units worldwide.

The BMW brand had its best January ever with sales up 5.9% to 96,183 vehicles with the revamped 1 series, up 19.1% to 13,070, worthy of note though 3 series volume slipped 3.3% to 22,710. 

Mini volume rose 11.6% to 15,768.  

In Asia, group deliveries climbed 25.6% to 36,422 with China up 30.5% to 26,505.

US sales increased 5.8% to 19,739 units.

In Europe, deliveries climbed 12.4% in Italy to 5,445; by 10.6% in France to 3,342; by 34.7% in Switzerland to 1,316; by 31.8% in the Netherlands to 1,550; and by 19.0% in Austria to 1,184 units.

The redesigned 3 series sedan goes on sale later this month.

“We anticipate even more dynamic growth in the second half of the year in light of the launch of additional new models,” said sales and marketing chief Ian Robertson.
