BMW aims to boost group sales in Russia by 20% to 6,000 vehicles this year, according to Reuters.
“This is an ambitious target, but one that we will achieve,” a spokesman for BMW told the news agency.
In 2004, the group sold roughly 5,000 vehicles in Russia.
By comparison, rival DaimlerChrysler sold around 4,000 Mercedes-Benz cars last year. A spokesman for the company declined to say how much it aims to sell in 2005, Reuters added.
