GERMANY: Bischoff to quit EADS post if he gets DCX chair
Manfred Bischoff, co-chairman of EADS, will give up his post at the aerospace group next year if he becomes DaimlerChrysler's chairman, according to Reuters.
Manfred Bischoff, co-chairman of EADS, will give up his post at the aerospace group next year if he becomes DaimlerChrysler’s chairman, according to Reuters.
Bischoff, widely expected to succeed Hilmar Kopper as DaimlerChrysler chairman when Kopper’s term expires next year, could not stay at his current position because DaimlerChrysler is one of the main shareholders in EADS.
“He would then have a problem with the principles of corporate governance,” a source told Reuters.
DaimlerChrysler is set to decide on its new chairman at its annual meeting on April 4.
