Production by German automakers is expected to decrease by some 14% year-on-year to about 4.7m units in 2009, according to audit firm PricewaterhouseCoopers (Pwc).

Production will then drop to 4.53m vehicles in 2010 and then grow again to 4.95m in 2011.

The car scrapping bonus benefited mainly foreign companies as well as carmakers that offer smaller and more fuel efficient models, PWC said, according to Financial Times Deutschland.
