Volkswagen Group will be working with Porsche on hybrid engine technology after all.  Volkswagen, Audi and Porsche said Monday at the International Motor Show in Frankfurt they would work together to develop a new fuel-efficient hybrid engine for their automobiles.

Details of the programme were scant, but Audi said it would take the lead in the development of the new hybrid.

The announcement comes less than a week after BMW said it would join with GM and DaimlerChrysler to develop their own hybrid engine.
