Audi has announced a 9.2% increase in sales in May to 79,200 vehicles, bringing its year-to-date growth to 11.5% with 344,137 sales.
This was the best five months in the history of the company, the automaker said.
“Figures for all models were very good in the first five months. We are particularly pleased with the success of the luxury-class models, the A6, A8 and Q7. There are new records in almost every country,” said sales and marketing head Ralph Weyler.
Sales in Europe excluding Germany have also risen significantly. In the first five months of the year, Audi delivered 181,900 vehicles , an increase of 7.5 %. In May, sales were up by 8.3% to 36,400 units.
Markets with the highest growth rates include Russia, Italy and Belgium. In Germany, sales increased in the first five months by 4.4 % to 105,550 units. In May, 23,586 vehicles were sold there, a rise of 2%.

In the USA, Audi recorded growth of 6.3 % in the first five months and increased sales to 32,416 vehicles. In May, Audi delivered 7,120 units , an increase of 10.3 %.
