Audi will launch its all new A5 coupe in March 2006. The car will be produced in the Ingolstadt plant and will be the first car built on the new modular platform that will also be used for the next A4, A6 and A8 generations.

The launch of the A5 is part of Audi’s plan to reach sales of one million cars in 2008. Last year, the company sold 829,000 units.

To boost sales, the automaker is investing in the development of new technology and new products.

“We will increase our range from 22 models to 40 models in the next years”, said Josef Schön, manager of corporate strategy at a TT coupe launch event in Germany for journalists from South America.

Besides the A5, the automaker will also introduce the redesigned TT Roadster, the R8 sports car and the Q5 mid-size SUV.
