Germany’s Handelsblatt newspaper said that it had been told that Aston Martin was in talks with Daimler over cooperation in the field of engines and a possible purchase of the luxury Maybach brand.
Aston Martin chief Ulrich Bez told the paper that the British carmaker was interested in Maybach, which has been stuggling for some time.
Daimler did not comment on the story, saying only that there is nothing new to report.
The company makes only 200 Maybach vehicles a year and for some time has been considering running the brand in partnership with another carmaker.
