German exhaust systems supplier Boysen has opened a factory in Subotica, northern Serbia, the government of the autonomous province of Vojvodina told

Boysen would create 500 jobs at the factory by 2024, the provincial government said in a statement.

In 2019, the Subotica city government said Boysen planned to spend EUR65m ($73.3m) building a factory in Subotica’s Mali Bajmok industrial zone.

The factory would supply complete exhaust systems for commercial vehicles and cars to Audi, BMW and Mercedes-Benz, according to the Boysen website cited by

The website said the factory occupies 38,000 square metres and employs “up to 400” people. Production had been scheduled to start last spring.
