Kia Motors will show a virtually production-ready version of its first Slovak-built car at the Geneva motor show at the end of this month.
The show car, named Cee’d (pronounced ‘seed’), is essentially the new C-segment model the Korean automaker will begin building in its first European assembly plant in Slovakia from December 2006.
Kia said the ‘concept’ also shows what the styling of future models will be like. The production car arrives at the Paris motor show in September.
The ‘CEE’ part of the name Cee’d is said to symbolise that both the concept and the forthcoming production model are ‘made in Europe’ while ‘seed’ stands for future growth at Kia.
