The three-door version of the second generation BMW 1 Series will have its global debut at the Geneva motor show on 6 March. BMW has chosen to preview the new bodystyle via what it’s calling the Concept M135i.

The concept is yet another showcase for BMW’s new M Performance sub-brand. The company is yet to reveal all information about the car’s engine, stating only that it is an inline six and is claimed to produce in excess of 300 horsepower, courtesy of two turbochargers (‘Twin Power Turbo technology’).

M Performance, which is making its global debut at Geneva, will display three other vehicles at the show: the X5 M50d, X6 M50d and M550d xDrive. Each of these is powered by a 376hp turbodiesel engine.
