Land Rover expects to sell more vehicles in the US than in its home UK market this year for the first time, as it seeks to step up production at its Solihull plant, according to the Daily Telegraph.
Managing director Matthew Taylor told the paper the division would make a “good profit” in 2006, driven by a 10% to 15% sales gain in North America, and also plans to break into new markets such as India.
Land Rover is in talks with its unions about boosting production to 116,000 this year from 106,000, the report added.
