Mazda confirmed on Tuesday that the redesigned 6 (known as the Atenza in Japan) will make its world debut at the Frankfurt motor show on 11 September.

This is the first redesign of a model that took Mazda in a new design direction and the model has been acclaimed for its driving dynamics while its platform and engines have underpinned a number of Ford group models as well.

“The [new model] takes a step forward in quality and offers strengthened environmental and safety performance,” the automaker said.
