Mazda’s new CX-5 compact crossover will make its global debut at the Frankfurt show in September. It’s the first of a new generation of vehicles with the new, more efficient ‘Skyactiv’ engines and transmissions.
The CX-5 will be progressively introduced across the globe from early 2012.
European versions will have two-litre petrol and 2.2-litre diesel engines; the diesel offered with two power outputs. Each diesel has a record-breaking compression ratio of 14:1 for ideal efficiency and targeted CO2 emissions of under 120g/km.
Mazda will also launch the European version of the updated 3 in Frankfurt. It now has lower CO2 emissions, revised interior and exterior, and higher quality.
