Visteon has revealed that it is supplying an instrument panel system to the Peugeot 1007, claiming that it enables nearly instant customisation of the vehicle’s interior by the driver to suit his or her tastes.

PSA Peugeot-Citroen and Visteon worked together to develop a Personalised Instrument Panel — featuring the Cameleo design concept — that offers interior kits for the dashboard.

The kit includes Velcro fastening strips that are welded to specific areas of the instrument panel so coloured mats can be added. Even the air register rings are interchangeable.

The Peugeot instrument panel style features a technical geometric grain that is very fine and requires special care during the manufacturing process, says Visteon.

Visteon also supplies the Peugeot 1007 central console.
