French seals specialist Sealynx has been placed in receivership following losses last year.
The company – employing 730 staff and based in Charleval in the Eure department – was put into receivership by the Tribunal de Commerce de Nanterre.
“They [Sealynx] filed for bankruptcy on Friday and are [now] in receivership for six months,” a Sealynx spokesman in Paris told just-auto.
Renault is Sealnyx’s largest client and the spokesman indicated unions were potentially disputing the amount of work available, but declined to elaborate further.
Sealnyx, which has several factories in France as well as Romania and Morocco, had a EUR55m (US$72.7m) turnover in 2009, before posting a loss for 2010.
“It was a loss but we have no figure,” added the spokesman. “It was certainly significant.
