Renault, due to make a three-year strategy announcement on 9 February, plans to restructure its organisation by geographical zones to cater better to local markets, the La Tribune newspaper reportedly said on Monday.
According to Reuters, the paper said Renault would inform its social partners about the move later on Monday. It said big regions would become separate profit centres and no longer piloted from headquarters in Paris.
Noting that chairman and chief executive Carlos Ghosn has been keeping his plans under wraps Reuters said that, during his time at Michelin, he fought to reduce interference by French headquarters in the running of North America, where he was local head before moving on to Renault and Nissan.
