Renault group sales of cars and light commercial vehicles rose 6.4% year on year in the third quarter.


Renault brand sales rose 5.6% and Dacia was up 20.2% but Renault Samsung Motors slipped 1.5%.


In September 2007, the Renault group sold 193,066 vehicles (cars and LCVs) worldwide under its three brands, off 2.8% year on year.


In Europe, the group’s third-quarter sales were stable (354,919 units sold), for a market share of 8.2%. Renault group sales in September totaled 125,496 units, a decline of 6.5%, for a market share of 7.7%.


Dacia sales were up 86% in Europe on Q3 2006, bolstered by the success of the Logan MCV alongside the sedan.

Outside Europe, Renault group sales continued to rise in the third quarter (up 20.9 %). In the Euromed region, Renault group sales were up 15.4% in the third quarter. In Asia-Africa, they increased 14.7%.


Renault group said it expects worldwide sales to increase in the last quarter, with growth quickening toward year-end, enabling it to achieve its objective of a slight increase in full-year sales for 2007.
