Renault Nissan chief Carlos Ghosn said he expects vehicle sales in Europe to decline 2%-3% this year, adding he is particularly concerned about an expected 5%-6% drop in France.

“It’s going to be tough for everyone, not just for Renault,” Ghosn said in an interview on the France Inter radio station.

He added: “What really worries us is France, as we’re very sensitive to the French market, and we expect [it] to contract by between 5% and 6%.”

Ghosn said that he expects other markets outside Europe to grow this year, offsetting the weakness in Renault’s home region.
