PSA said on Friday it is considering a technical cooperation with Turkey’s Karsan.

The project involves jointly developing and manufacturing sub-assemblies for specific versions of light commercial vehicles (LCVs). They could be assembled in Karsan’s plant in Bursa, Turkey, and in other plants in neighbouring countries.

Karsan already assembles the Peugeot Partner LCV in Bursa and has developed a long wheel base version of the vehicle for sale in Turkey.

PSA is seeking to expand its product line-up in emerging markets. It currently has only around 6% of the Turkish market.

A subsidiaryof the Kiraça Group, Karsan Automotiv Sanayi Ve Ticaret, produced 12,300 Partners in 2006.
