Jean-Martin Folz, Chairman of PSA Peugeot Citroën, and François Roussely, Chairman of Electricité de France (EDF), have signed a cooperation agreement to work jointly on the development of electric and hybrid vehicles and expand research in related technologies.
Through the agreement, the two companies hope to give new impetus to e-vehicle projects and support the development of the market for so-called hybrid vehicles that combining a combustion engine and an electric powertrain.
PSA Peugeot Citroën and EDF are both committed to promoting the use of environmentally friendly vehicles, notably for business and government fleets. In early 2002, EDF made 20 commitments to improving public electricity service in France, one of which involves working with local communities to rapidly develop a network of recharging stations in cities.
The agreement focuses on four areas of development:
– Supporting the wider use of electric vehicles.
– Improving after-sale service.
