PSA’s Peugeot brand sold 2,114,000 vehicles worldwide in 2011, 48% outside Europe, 1.3% down on its record 2010.

Sales outside of Europe rose 3% to a record 1,014,000 units.

Volume rose 9.2% in Latin America, 14.2% in Asia and 28.3% in Russia but European sales slipped 6.1% to 1,100,000 vehicles for a 7.1% share.

Global sales of premium vehicles jumped 40% to 320,000 last year.

Passenger car volume was down 9.2% to 916,000 registrations, in the final year of the 206+ and 207, ahead of the launch of the 208.

LCV sales rose 4% to 176,000 registrations.
