Nissan Europe has launched biodiesel powered versions of its Interstar and Primastar vans for fleet customers.


These vans were developed and are built by a joint venture with General Motors Europe and Renault which and all three partners market versions under their own brands.


Nissan claims to be one of only a few LCV brands offering the option.


For the Interstar and Primastar, the mix of biodiesel will consist of 30% methyl ester of vegetable oils and 70% normal diesel.


One engine option on the Interstar will be compatible with biodiesel, the 2.5-litre diesel engine in both 100 and 120hp formats, while the 2.0-litre diesel Primastar producing 90 and 115hp, and the 2.5-litre diesel with 150hp will all be available to run with biodiesel.
