French electric vehicle manufacturer Mia Electric is preparing to enter the South Korean electric vehicle (EV) market after its exclusive distributor for the Asia-Pacific region, Mia Electric Asia, established a local import and distribution subsidiary.
The French company is upbeat about its prospects in South Korea, claiming its products are very competitive compared with other EVs produced locally. The company is particularly encouraged by the generous government incentives offered in key areas of the country, including Jejudo island in the south.
Mia Electric will display its range of small electrically-powered minibuses at the Jejudo International Electric Vehicle Expo which kicks off on 15 March 2014. Local sales are expected to start in 2015.
