French media are widely reporting Renault chief operating officer Patrick Pelata has stepped down following the manufacturer’s industrial espionage case, although the automaker was not immediately available to verify any resignation.

Details remain sketchy but Renault convened an emergency board meeting in Paris today (11 April) to discuss the so-called spy affair.

French radio station RTL is citing Industry Minister Eric Besson as noting: “The audit has come to the conclusion that four people ought to be disciplined,” although he does not reveal any names.

Renault was not immediately available for comment. Further details are expected later.
