Eric Laurencier has been appointed by Nissan Europe as its new Vice President for Communications. This appointment becomes effective on 1 July, 2005.

Laurencier replaces Frederique Le Grevès who was assigned to head Nissan’s communications department in North America. In his new role, Laurencier will be responsible for Product, Internal and Corporate communications across Nissan’s European operations in 31 countries. He will be based in France at Nissan Europe’s headquarters and report to Dominique Thormann, Senior Vice President, Administration and Finance.

Laurencier, 38, joins the company with 13 years experience in communications and public relations. “Eric brings us a solid corporate communications background and a natural sense for creative and effective PR approaches. He will help us build a pan-European communications team to support the development of our brand into a truly iconic one,” said Dominique Thormann.

Over the past six years, Laurencier has held numerous positions at Coca-Cola France. Since 2004, he was head of the Communications and Consumer Relations department and was a member of the France Leadership Team since 2002. He joined the company as the PR manager and spokesperson in 1999. Prior to Coca-Cola, Laurencier served as Euro Disney’s Corporate Communications Manager from 1995 through 1999, and as a communications consultant from 1992 to 1995.

Laurencier holds a Masters degree in German from Paris University.
