FEV North America has established an office in Sunnyvale, to take advantage of what it says is a “thriving automotive electronics industry” on the West Coast.

“FEV has expanded its expertise beyond the powertrain design and development competencies that were the original foundation of our company’s growth,” said FEV North America president and CEO, Patrick Hupperich.

“Our capabilities in the connected vehicle and automotive electronics market are integrated into our core business, allowing us to provide a range of support to our west coast customers.

“Our global objective has always been to provide service offerings as close as possible to our customers.  The founding of our California office is an extension of this philosophy.”

In addition to serving the connected vehicle community, the office will support a variety of industries which are well established in California, such as oil and gas as well as the transportation and utility industries.

John Zelasko will manage the California office and will report to Joachim Wolschendorf, executive vice president and CSO of FEV North America.

Additional staff will come from FEV’s North American headquarters in Auburn Hills combined, as necessary, with locally-sourced staffing.

FEV Group is a powertrain and vehicle engineering company supporting the global transportation industry. It  also designs, develops and prototypes advanced vehicle / powertrain electronic control systems and hybrid-electric engine concepts.

The FEV Group employs a staff of more than 4,000 specialists at technical centres on three continents.

FEV North America employs more than 450 staff in its North American Technical Center in Auburn Hills, Michigan.
