Fiat Chrysler Automobiles added to its Jeep Compass recall with 1,200 units in India.

This was for replacement of the front passenger air bag, Reuters reported, citing an FCA India statement.

The news agency noted FCA had a day earlier recalled 7,000 sold in the US and 1,000 in Canada and Mexico for the same reason.

During the airbag module assembly process, loose fasteners may have inadvertently found their way undetected into a small number of modules, Fiat told Reuters.

No injuries, accidents, warranty claims or complaints had been reported, the company said.

Other reports said the affected vehicles were made between 5 September 2017 and 19 November, 2017. Jeep has said only 1% of the recalled vehicles were actually affected and it planned to send out recall notices next month.
