FAW Group achieved a “robust” increase in vehicle exports in the first half of 2023 as it continued to expand overseas. 

According to a China Daily report, the premium brand Hongqi posted a 172% year on year surge in exports at 5,003 vehicles while Jiefang boosted sales 122% to 18,001. Bestune shipped 7,029 units, up 127%.

FAW now sells in 85 countries and regions, including Europe, Africa, south east Asia and Latin America. It has 120 overseas dealers and has exported 400,000 vehicles to date. It has three subsidiaries in eastern Europe, South Africa and Tanzania, employing 300 people.

Based in northeast China’s Changchun, Jilin province, FAW Group marked its 70th anniversary on 15 July as its 55.77 millionth vehicle came off the production line.

FAW has operated a joint venture with Volkswagen and Audi celebrates for 35 years.

On 14 July, the three parties signed a memorandum of understanding on “deepening strategic cooperation” in Changchun.

The VW product line would be increased, and more electric vehicles developed using more Chinese technology.
